Conveniently located in Waipio Gentry and with a new location on Ward Avenue opening January 2019, Quick Stars Tutoring has been locally owned and operated since 2004. We teach all subjects from pre-school to college level. All tutoring is one-on-one with a highly qualified tutor. Sessions are either 1/2 hour or 1 hour long, and we offer several flexible payment plans as well as free testing.

Ms. Tracy, Owner and Director of Quick Stars Tutoring, graduated from Punahou school with honors and an advanced placement curriculum. She attended Claremont Mckenna College and graduated from the University of Hawai’i with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Ms. Tracy has tutored for 24 years and opened Quick Stars in 2004. She has training with both special education and gifted students.
Mr. Kyle is a popular and versatile tutor who currently teaches algebra 2 and AP seminar at Mililani High School. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hawai’i Pacific University with a bachelor’s in communication. He has a master’s in secondary education from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Kyle’s specialty subjects are high school math and test prep. He has been with Quick Stars for three years.
Ms. Theta is an experienced and fun tutor who has 30 years tutoring experience. She has a degree in mathematics from Humbolt State University and has successfully homeschooled her five children. Theta has worked for Quick Stars for seven years and comfortably teaches many subjects.
Ms. Marcie is an accomplished and brilliant tutor who also teaches trigonometry and pre-calculus at Mililani High School. She is a tenured secondary education mathematics teacher for the State of Hawai’i Department of Education. She has a Bachelor of Arts in education from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master of Arts in education from the University of Hawai’i. Ms. Marcie has tutored at Quick Stars for three years and her specialty subject is high school math.
Ms. Cathy is a dedicated and energetic tutor who previously taught second grade at Leihoku Elementary. She holds a bachelor’s in political science and sociology from the University of Hawai’i and a master’s in elementary education from University of Phoenix. She has been with Quick Stars for four years and is excellent at tutoring pre-school through high school students.
Ms. Meghan is a patient and bright tutor who has been with Quick Stars for seven years. She attended the University of Oregon and obtained a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Hawai’i. Her specialty subjects are English and writing.
Ms. Chrislyn is a skilled and knowledgeable tutor who has also worked as a part-time teacher with the Hawai’i Department of Education. She has a bachelor’s in psychology from Chapman University, a master’s in psychology from Hawai’i School of Professional Psychology and will soon obtain her doctorate of psychology from Argosy University. Ms. Chrislyn has worked at Quick Stars for six years, and she is adept at teaching a variety of subjects.
Mr. Edmar is a kind and genius tutor who has taught math including algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus AB and BC at Waipahu High School over the last 12 years. He also served as the mathematics curriculum specialist for the school and district. Mr. Edmar graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Education in secondary mathematics from the University of Hawai’i. His specialties are high school math and SAT/ACT math prep.
Mr. Andrew is a charismatic and humorous tutor who also teaches at Kanoelani Elementary. He has a bachelor’s degree in speech and communication from Clemson University and a master’s degree in K-6 from University of New Haven. He has been with Quick Stars for three years and is proficient at teaching reading, writing and math.
Ms. Kris is an enthusiastic and mature tutor who has taught at Quick Stars for seven years. She received a bachelor’s degree in art and a professional diploma in elementary education from the University of Hawai’i. Her specialty subjects are phonics and beginning reading.
Ms. Cynthia is a creative and seasoned tutor who worked as a high school English teacher, counselor and Student Services Coordinator for 37 years. She has a bachelor’s in secondary education from the University of Hawai‘i and a master’s in counseling psychology from Chaminade. Throughout her teaching career, Ms. Cynthia worked as a Department of Education tutor with students of all levels from special needs to gifted. She has been with Quick Stars for six years, and her specialty subject is English.
Ms. Lori is a sophisticated and veteran tutor who has a Bachelor of Education in elementary education, with a minor in language arts from the University of Hawai’i. As a teacher with the DOE, she taught grades three to six, and currently teaches at Waikele Elementary. Ms. Lori has also worked as a math curriculum coordinator and complex area math resource teacher. She has been with Quick Stars for two years, and her specialty is K-6.
Ms. Osiris is an organized and artistic tutor who has a bachelor’s in criminal justice and Spanish from Sam Houston State University, a PBCSE from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, and a Master of Education in administration and supervision from the University of Houston. Ms. Osiris has taught Spanish for the last nine years, and currently works at Mililani High School teaching Spanish 1, 3, and AP. She is also excellent at teaching K-6.
Ms. Erin is a lively and friendly tutor who teaches second grade at Nanakuli Elementary. She has a bachelor’s in psychology and a Master of Education in teaching from the University of Hawai’i. She has been with Quick Stars for two years, and her specialty is elementary education.
Mr. Don is an ingenious and humble tutor who has taught AP calculus AB/BC, trigonometry/pre-calculus, and algebra 2 at Aiea High School for 18 years. He has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Post Baccalaureate Certification in Secondary Education from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. He also has a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on secondary education at Chaminade University of Honolulu. He tutors high school math, including test prep.
Ms. Emily is an upbeat and gifted tutor who also works as a research associate at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. She has tutored for seven years, specializing in chemistry, calculus, physics, and biology, as well as SAT/ACT math prep. Ms. Emily received a bachelor’s in biomedical materials science and engineering from Michigan State University and a master’s in biological engineering from UH, where she also taught undergraduate chemistry. Her specialty subjects are science and math up to calculus 4.
Mr. Vi is an animated and spirited tutor who taught high school chemistry, physics, biology, and earth science for nine years in California. He has a bachelor’s in biology and chemistry from the University of Hawai’i, Manoa and a master’s in physical chemistry from the University of California, Irvine. Mr. Vi currently works as a chemist for the Department of Health. He specializes in science, but also teaches reading, writing, and math from pre-k to high school.
Ms. Linda is a warm and nurturing tutor. She has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business from University of Phoenix in San Jose, California. She earned a Certificate of Completion for Career and Technical Education from Leeward Community College, and also obtained a Teacher’s License. She has extensive business and technical experience, both in the U.S. and in Asia. Her specialty subjects are Japanese, English, finance and technology.
Ms. Sheila is a professional and effective tutor who enjoys helping students be successful. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Findlay and a Masters in Curriculum Studies from UH Manoa. For the past 17 years, she has taught English as Mililani High School. She is eager to help students with writing, reading, English and test prep.
Ms. Cheryl is an encouraging and highly qualified tutor with a Bachelor of Education degree in Secondary Education English and Masters Degree in Education Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She has taught English to students in grades 7 – 12 at Farrington High School, Washington Intermediate School, Kawananakoa Intermediate School and Kamehameha Schools. She is currently the Dean of Student Activities at Kamehameha Schools. Her specialty is English/Language Arts.
Ms. Tyrha is an expert and focused tutor who has taught algebra, geometry and AP statistics at Waipahu High School for the past seven years. She graduated from the University of Hawai’i with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics, and has a post-baccalaureate certification in secondary education. Her specialty subjects are statistics, high school math and SAT/ACT math prep.
Ms. Kim is an articulate and bubbly tutor who graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in journalism and communications. She has worked as a reporter and writer for both the newspaper and publication industries in Ohio. She passed the Praxis II, English/Language Arts Teacher’s Exam and has taught at Waipahu Intermediate School. Ms. Kim is enthusiastic about teaching writing, reading, literature, grammar and language arts test prep for all grade levels.
Ms. Melissa is a caring and positive tutor. She holds a bachelor’s in elementary education from the University of Hawai’i and is currently pursuing a master’s of education. She primarily works with pre-school to grade six.
Ms. Josephine is a fresh and buoyant tutor who also works as a part-time teacher at Honowai Elementary and as a substitute teacher for the DOE. She holds a degree in psychology from the University of Hawai’i and is outstanding with students from pre-k to grade six.
